Black Caviar Wins 2011 Schweppes Stakes At Moonee Valley

October 22nd, 2011

Black Caviar has won her 15th straight race today in the 2011 Schweppes Stakes at Moonee Valley Racecourse.

The five-year-old mare won the race by six lengths ahead of second place-getter Doubtful Jack and third place-getter Here De Angels.

Trainer Peter Moody was thrilled with the spectacular result.

“It’s always good to put it behind you again,” Moody said.

“It looked (that we would win) on paper but you’re always that little bit toey that things can go wrong.

“She stretched out lovely.

“It’s a wonderful story, it’s a dream come true.

“It wasn’t much competition today for her.

“I’m just ever so grateful to be a part of it.”

The trainer said Black Caviar would most likely head to the Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes 2011 in Perth on November 19 following her Patinack Farm Classic 2011 run on November 5.

“The owners have always looks very much forward to showcasing her to Australia,” he said.

“Perth’s very much in the picture as well.”

Black Caviar has now equalled the feat of Carbine and Bernborough by winning 15 straight races and has accrued more than $3.7 million in prize money.
